Supplier of traditional British hardwoods
Welcome to MAC Timbers
One of the last independent Hardwood Timber specialists in the UK
The new workshop was completed in Oct 17 and comprises a full joinery and machine shop. We have now installed the new Norwood sawmill next to the workshop and are able to process trees once again. We have also installed our new kiln capable of taking trees up to 4 mtrs in length.
A Huge thank you to everyone who came to the open day on Sunday the 6th Oct 2019. It was really great to see everyone and to catch up with old friends and make some new friends.
A big thank you to Fred Smith for demonstrating and also Martin Wright & Jonks for thier contributions too. Thanks to Jonks for all of his assistance in running the Bar-B-Que and helping to make it such a success.
Next Open Day at MAC Timbers
Cancelled until further notice
It is with regret that we have been forced to heed Government advice and cancel our open days until further notice due to the current outbreak of Coronavirus.
We will be holding further open days in the future once the risk has disappeared. We are still open for business, but we would ask you to make an appointment by phone. We would also ask you to take into consideration that we are both in the AT RISK group so if you are feeling any effects of the virus or have family members who are affected then please don't come to our premises.
Thank you to everyone for all of your support at this time.

We should mention that anyone interested in buying wood is always welcome at any time (Just don't expect cake!). Just give us a call before you leave to make sure we are here and available.
The New 4 mtr Kiln
Beautiful Wych Elm platter turned by Martin Wright. An example of some of the woods we stock
Things are progressing well with the new Kiln. We have processed several trees now and stocks of Ash, London plane, (Lacewood), Olive ash, Sycamore and Oak are starting to look good. We are just about to put some heavily spalted & flamed Beech into the kiln and have boards in excess of 25" wide. Some of the most beautiful Beech we have seen in a long time. If you are interested in any of these then please feel free to contact us.
We are alaways interested in finding new trees for processing. If you have a tree that is due to be cut down please give us a call. We are looking for trees that have a trunk girth of 16" (40cm) plus. Preferrably hardwood species only (Although some softwoods such as Yew, Wellingtonia (Giant redwood) and Cedar would be most welcome). We are not able to cut down the tree for you but we might be able to remove the larger bits once they are cut. We can only travel a maximum of 50 miles from our home destination near Oundle in Northants to collect any suitable trees.
